Local authorities confiscated large areas of citizens’ lands in Lahj

LAHJ, Oct. 29 (YPA) – The local authorities confiscated on Thursday large areas of citizens’ lands in Lahj province.

A number of farmers organized a protest against the decision to confiscate their lands, claiming that they do not own them.

They confirmed in a statement that the land had belonged to them for four decades, after reclaiming it, uprooting thorny trees, and making it suitable for agriculture.

The citizens’ statement denounced the attacks on their lands, in an attempt to rob their lands that are relied upon to support their families, and demanded the provision of services instead of jumping over the rights of citizens.
