SAADA, Sep. 24 (YPA) – The security services in Saada province seized 823 kilograms of narcotic hashish in a number of districts of the province, which were on their way to Saudi Arabia, the Interior Ministry’s security media center said on Thursday.
The media center stated that the Narcotics Control Department seized 88 kilograms of hashish in the possession of eight defendants; all of them are illegal immigrants of Ethiopian nationality, who were on their way to Saudi Arabia.
The center indicated that the security services seized 87 kilograms of narcotic hashish on board of a pick-up car, and 79 kilograms in the possession of one of the accused in Majaz district.
The Narcotics Control Department’s branch seized 83 kilograms of hashish in the possession of nine defendants, eight of whom were of Ethiopian nationality, the security media center added.
In ‘Al-Hashwah’ district, the media center confirmed that the police forces seized 300 kilograms of hashish on board of a pick-up car and seized others 63 kilograms on board of a bus.
The police also seized 87 kilograms of hashish on board of a pick-up car in the same district.
The security media center pointed out that the security services had referred the seizures and those accused of possessing them to legal procedures.
