Emirati officer killed, others wounded in Socotra

SOCOTRA, Sept. 4 (YPA) – Informed sources in Socotra Island province on Thursday revealed news of the killing of an Emirati officer and the injury of two others in an operation on the island.

The sources confirmed that the so-called “Socotra resistance” elements carried out an ambush targeting an Emirati vehicle on the island, killing an officer and wounding two soldiers, early this week, amid extreme media secrecy about the incident.

The Emirati forces transported the body of the Emirati officer and the injured via a private Emirati plane to Abu Dhabi airport, the sources added without giving more information about the attack.

The UAE is seeking to establish military bases in cooperation with the Zionist entity forces, after setting up a military telecommunication station belonging to the entity last August to monitor maritime and air traffic in the Gulf waters, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.
