Unknown assailants plant IED in one of Balhaf facility’s control towers

SHABWAH, Aug. 16 (YPA) – Unknown assailants planted an improvised explosive device in the number one control tower, adjacent to the gate of the Balhaf facility, from which US and Emirati forces are based, Tribal sources in Shabwah province reported.

According the sources, explosives experts were able to dismantle the device, the sources said.

It is not known whether planting the device in a sensitive area with highly security protection from the UAE and The United States forces threatened to blow up the most important facility for the production of liquefied gas or the Islah party militias ( Yemeni branch of Muslims  Brotherhood)  in penetrating the security system of the two forces.

However, its timing indicates the escalation of the conflict between the Emiratis and the Islah party supported by Qatar and Turkeys.

The oil province is witnessing a mass demonstration pro-Islah today amid calls to storm the Balhaf facility, which the UAE is counting on to meet its needs of liquefied gas, and Qatar is trying to abort this attempt on the grounds of the purchase of Qatari gas.
