STC suppresses demonstration of Islah in Abyan

ABYAN, July 27 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Monday foiled a demonstration called for by the “Southern National Coalition” in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

The STC mobilized his supporters in Lodar city after the National Coalition, funded by businessman Ahmed al-Eisi affiliated with Islah Party, called for a demonstration in the city.

Local sources confirmed that the merchant al-Eisi, who is close to the exiled Hadi, had backed the transport of the Islah militants in civilian clothes from the coastal town of Shoqra to attend the Lodar demonstration.

Earlier in the day, STC supporters from Lodar demonstrated against the Islah presence, calling for the imposition of the self-administration in the province.
