SANAA, July 26 (YPA) – A small plane crashed in the Alps on Saturday, killing the four people on board, Swiss police said On Saturday.
The victims were Swiss and Austrian nationals between the ages of 46 and 66.
A witness reported to the police after he saw the plane landing in the Greitspitz area, a 3,063-metre-long canyon in the canton of Valais, near the Italian border.
Rescuers, who were taken to the scene by helicopter, found the four dead.
Police released a photo showing the wreckage of the plane over a rocky edge on a steep glacier.
The cause of the incident is not yet known, it is under investigation, the police said in a statement.
