Deadly clashes erupt between Saudi-backed militias in Dhlea

DHLEA, May 12 (YPA) – Fierce fighting broke out on Saturday night with various kind of weapons between the commander of the Special Forces and the forces of Thirty armoured brigade loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Dhlea province, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The clashes took place in Habil Al-Sama’i area “Al-Fakher” in the north Qutbah city of Dhlea province, between the command of the special forces of Colonel Abdo Halimi, and the forces of the 30 armoured brigade under the command of Brigadier General Abdul Karim Sadi commander of the brigade.

The sources said that Saudi-backed militias used various types of medium and heavy weapons.

The fighting erupted after an assassination attempt targeted the commander of the 30 armoured brigades in the region, killing three and injuring many others.

The Colonel “Al-Sayadi” accused Colonel Abdo Al-Halimi of trying to assassinate him, the sources added.
