11 million people infected with Coronavirus worldwide: JHU

SANAA, July 4 (YPA) – More than 11 million people worldwide have been infected with the new coronavirus and more than half a million people have died due the virus, according to new statistics released Saturday by Johns Hopkins University.

There are now over 11 million confirmed COVID-19 cases globally, with over 523,000 fatalities and more than 5.7 million recoveries, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University (JHU).

The epidemic has forced many countries of the world to take extraordinary action in their own country.

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced this week that it had been informed in late December by its Office in China of the first cases in Wuhan of pneumonia, which had turned into the Covid-19 pandemic.
