Women protest against Islah militants presence in Hadhramaut

HADHRAMAUt, June 18 (YPA) – On Thursday, dozens of women staged a vigil in front of the “First Military  Region” command, which is loyal to the al-Islah party in Hadhramaut province.

The vigil for the so-called “Hadhrami Women’ Group” rally in the City of Seiyun demanded the departure of the al-Islah camps from the Hadhramaut Valley directorates.

Protesters accused the gunmen of the first region of carrying out the assassinations against citizens of the province.

At the vigil, they raised banners reading “there will be no peace and security, there will be no first military region in the valley”, and protesters have called for the deployment of Hadhramaut militias in all valley directorates.

Hadhramaut Valley directorates are experiencing unprecedented insecurity and an increase in assassinations and killings.

Last week,Hadhramaut tribes gave the first military region 20 days to leave the province, following the killing of the director of Shibam security and a number of his companions, at the end of May.
