France condemns Turkey’s continued violation of arms embargo to Libya

SANAA,June 18 (YPA) – The French Foreign Ministry condemned Turkey’s continued breach of the arms embargo to Libya, saying it was the main obstacle to the peace process there.
The Sputnik agency quoted the French Foreign Ministry as saying, on Wednesday, in a statement: “The main obstacle to peace and stability in Libya is the systematic breach of the arms embargo, especially by Turkey.”

The Ministry added that the Turkish naval actions towards NATO allies are aggressive and unacceptable, stressing the need for the Turkish regime to stop interfering in Libya and that there is no military solution to the crisis in it.

Tensions between Paris and Ankara have increased in the past days, as French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian condemned “the growing military support” for Turkey to the Libyan government of reconciliation in direct violation of the United Nations embargo.

Before that, Paris stepped up its stance towards Turkish interference in Libya, describing it as unacceptable, stressing that “France cannot allow this,” according to what was issued by the Elysee.
