Shabwa governor loyal to Hadi’s gov’t escapes assassination

SHABWA, June 10 (YPA) – Governor of Shabwa province, appointed by Hadi’s government, Mohammad Saleh bin Adiu survived on Wednesday an assassination attempt by an explosive device targeted his convoy in the city of Ataq, the provincial capital.

Local sources in the province reported that unknown gunmen targeted the governor’s convoy by detonating an explosive device remotely, while another explosive device was dismantled before it exploded.

The sources added that the attack targeted “bin Adiu” as he was returning from his office to his home, without causing any injuries.

The pro-Islah governor of Shabwa had been subjected to a number of assassination attempts in the city of Ataq.
