LAHJ, June 1 (YPA) – The local authorities in Radfan district of Lahj province, southern Yemen, on Monday announced the district a health-stricken area, after recording 37 deaths of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) during the past 48 hours.
The local authorities imposed a curfew and declared a state of public emergency in al-Habilayn city, and decided to close the city in general starting from 4:00 pm this afternoon, including mosques, Qat markets and residential complexes for two days, except for health facilities and pharmacies.
The local authorities in the district called on citizens to stay in their homes during the curfew period, except for the most urgent need with the use of preventive means to prevent infection with the virus.
Local sources in Lahj told Yemen Press Agency that the announcement of Radfan as an infested city came after recording hundreds of cases of “COVID-19” in the district during the past 48 hours, including 37 deaths.
The sources pointed out that among the deceased with the virus is Director General of Radfan district Brigadier General Saleh Hussein al-Qutibi.
