Al-Houthi confirms failure of Saudi austerity

SANAA, May 11 (YPA) – Leading member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi, has confirmed the failure of Saudi austerity measures in advance.

Al-Houthi described the measures as not going to save the faltering Saudi economy due to the collapse of oil prices in the world market and the stoppage of revenues for the Umrah and Hajj seasons, due to the corona epidemic.

“Saudi measures taken to raise the tax increase, suspend some projects, reduce budgets and cancel the high allowance are only equal to less than 25% of their operating expenses per year on the aggression against Yemen,” Al-Houthi wrote  on Twitter account on Monday.
