STC militias launch attack on al-Islah positions in Shabwah

SHABWAH, May 4 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias launched missile attacks on positions of al-Islah militants in Shabwah, eastern Yemen, tribal sources said on Sunday .

According to tribal sources in the province, al-Islah militants were hit by missiles fired by the STC militias, targeting their positions in Merkhah As Sufla District.

The sources added that the STC militias targeted the site of Hisn Al-Saadah, where al-Islah militants are based, with RBG, light and medium machine guns.

The surprise attack left one dead and another one wounded, while the rest fled their positions, one of the sources said, pointing out that violent clashes following the attack lasted for more than half an hour.
