SHBAWAH, April 7 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias on Tuesday launched a fierce attack on a military post belonging to al-Islah militants in Shabwah, south-eastern Yemen, local sources said.
According to the sources, the STC militias attacked a military post and positions belonging to the Al-Islah militants in the Rudum district, with a number of artillery shells and RBG shells, leaving dead and wounded in their ranks.
The surprise attack on the sites of Islah destroyed the polling garage next to the point, amid a mass escape of the militants from the area.
The Rudum area point, which is under the control of the Islah militants, is a crossroads between the oil port of Balhaf and the oil fields north of Shabwah.
