Ship carrying weapons secretly unloaded in Shoqra coast of Abyan

ABYAN, March 31 (YPA) – A ship loaded with weapons has arrived in the coastal city of Shoqra, controlled by Islah Party in Abyan province, southern Yemen, a medial official in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council said on Tuesday.

The journalist Salah bin Laghbar confirmed in a tweet that the Islah militants and other members of al-Qaeda transported the weapons by small boats to al-Arqoub camp in the city.

He added that the process of transporting the weapons has been continuing since Monday evening to different places in the areas controlled by the Islah militants.

The Islah militants take the coastal city of Shoqra in Abyan as headquarters of their military leadership, after the transitional council’s militia took control of Aden in August 2019.
