Transport Minister meets UN Mission political affairs’s official
SANAA, Jan. 8 (YPA) – The Minister of Transport, Zakaria Al-Shami, on Wednesday met with UN Mission political affairs’s official to support the Hodeidah agreement, Amira Khudair.
The meeting touched on the facilities provided by the Ministry and the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation to the mission in Hodeidah province and port, in implementation of the Stockholm Agreement and the positive steps implemented by the national party.
In the meeting, the Minister of Transport stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and supporting the port of Hodeidah and implementing the agreements that were signed recently with the development program.
He pointed out the importance of Hodeidah port role and the provision of the necessary needs to resume work at it and receive ships loaded with basic materials of food and oil derivatives, pointing to the facilities provided by the ministry through the Red Sea Ports Institution for inspectors and the UN monitoring mission and overcoming difficulties for international observers and inspectors.
The Minister affirmed the importance of the role of the International Observer Group in implementing the Stockholm Agreement, especially with regard to the needs of Hodeidah port, indicating that the aggression coalition continues to detain ships and prevent them from entering the port and the continued closure of Sana’a International Airport in front of civil and humanitarian flights.
In her turn, the official of the political affairs of the UN mission praised the facilities provided by the Ministry of Transport to the mission in the port of Hodeidah.
