SABAA, Oct. 26 (YPA) – Ankara and Moscow are close to conduct an agreement to supply Turkey with 36 Su-35 fighter jets.
Ankara and Moscow can also agree that Turkey will begin producing some components for Russian aircraft in the future, according to the Daily Sabah.
Meanwhile, on 22 October, the chief of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shogayev expressed the view that it was too early to talk about negotiations on the supply of Su-35 and Su-57 fighters to Turkey. However, consultations are under way.
During his visit to the Max-2019 air show, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed interest in buying Russian Su-57 fighters, to assure his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, of the existence of this possibility.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also ruled out buying Su-35 and Su-57 fighter jets from Russia instead of U.S. F-35s, following the U.S. decision to suspend Turkey’s participation in its stealth-type aircraft manufacturing program.
