Yemeni army launches offensive in Jawf

JAWF, Oct. 3 (YPA) – The Yemeni army backed by popular committees on  Thursday carried out a large offensive operation on the positions of Saudi-led aggression mercenaries in Jawf province, northern Yemen, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, dozens of the mercenaries  were killed and wounded in the attack, which took place in Sala’an area  west part of al- Maslub district.

On Wednesday,  the army’s artillery unit  shelled gatherings of Saudi-led coalition forces in al-Moton compound of the same province with mortar shells, the  official said.

The artillery shelling resulted in many dead and wounded in ranks of the mercenaries , the official added.
