4500 war prisoners released in 400 exchange deals in Jawf, Shabwah

SANAA, Sept. 28 (YPA) – The official of legal affairs in the Prisoners Committee in Sanaa Ahmed Abu Hamrah said on Saturday that over 4,500 war prisoners were released in 400 exchange deals through a tribal mediation.

Hamrah affirmed that the Saudi-led coalition put a lot of obstacles to carry out the humanitarian deals between the two sides, noting dozens of the exchange deals were carried out by tribal mediations away from the coalition and the exiled Hadi government.

Abu Hamra said in a phone call with “Sputnik”, that the recent deals took place in Jawf and Shabwah provinces away from Stockholm Agreement or the United Nations.

For his part, Abdul Qader Al-Mortadha, the head of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs that 13 war prisoners of the army and popular forces were released on Friday in the two exchange deals in the same provinces through local mediation.
