SANAA, Sept. 9 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Hisham Sharaf Abdullah on Monday condemned the deliberate aggressive and provocative policies imposed by the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen.
The minister Sharaf said in remarks that the ministry sent protest letters to the UN Secretary General, Security Council and Human Rights Council about Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates that hold and prevent 11 ships carrying oil derivatives and food aid from entering Hodeidah port.
Sharaf said” whenever there is a new step towards a peaceful political settlement in Yemen, but the mercenaries backed by the coalition countries put more obstacles for foiling any peace solution to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe that affects the Yemeni people.”
The minister reiterated the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government’s keenness towards a comprehensive political settlement between all parties.
“Moving towards peace must be in line with the serious step to reduce the humanitarian catastrophe through the release of ships loaded with oil derivatives and food, lifting the siege on Hodeidah port and reopening Sanaa International Airport,” the minister stressed.
