SHABWA, Sept. 5 (YPA) – Abyan province’s governor loyal to Hadi’s government on Thursday died in vague circumstances in Shabwa province, southeast Yemen, sources reported.
According to news published by activists on social media, the governor of Hadi’s government in Abyan Abu Bakr Hussein Salem has died in the house of Shabwa governor Mohammed Saleh bin Adiu, amid mysterious circumstances.
The activists did not elaborate on the nature of the death, while local authorities in Abyan province did not confirm or deny the news.
Abyan’s governor accompanied by a number of military leaders loyal to the exiled Hadi had arrived in the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa province, in order to facilitate his exit to Saudi Arabia for treatment amid reports of his injury in the military clashes between the Southern Transitional Council’s militia and Hadi’s forces in Abyan last week.
