Telecommunications Ministry grants SabaFon licenses to operate 2G, 4G services

SANAA, Sept. 4 (YPA) – The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology on Wednesday signed a contract to renew the licenses of the mobile operator SabaFon on Wednesday.

In a statement to Yemeni Press Agency, Director General of Relations at the ministry, Abdulkhaleq al-Naqeeb confirmed that the signing came at the company’s request it submitted last July in order to get licenses to operate the second and fourth generations (2G,4G) of its services.

He pointed out that the signed license contract is a renewal of the operation of the 2G services until the end of 2021 and is a starting for the operation of 4G services.
