Southern Council’s militias launch fierce attack on Hadi’s forces in Ataq

SHABWA, Aug. 25 (YPA) – Hadi’s forces on Sunday evening repelled a sweeping attack by Shabwani elite militia of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council in Ataq city of Shabwa province, southeast Yemen.

“The most violent attack of the elite militias was repulsed by Hadi’s forces and an armored vehicle and two cars belonging to the militias were seized,” a military source in Ataq said.

He added that the forces loyal to Hadi advanced towards the sites of Ksarat bin Sinan and Fuwairis after the retreat of the UAE-backed elite militias.
