SANAA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – Yemen’s Army Spokesman Yahya Sarie on Saturday revealed new two air defense systems to deter the Saudi-led aggression coalition combat jets.
The systems, surface-to-air missiles called Fatir-1 and Thaqib -1, were developed by the Air Defense Forces to defend Yemen.
“The new air defense systems have succeeded to confront the aggressor’s combat jets of F-15, F-16, Mirage and Typhoon,” Sarie said.
Last week, the air defenses shot down U.S. MQ-9 drone in the central province of Dhamar, and another U.S. drone was shot down in June in the western port city of Hodeidah.
The United States have admitted the loss of both drones.
