UAE-backed militias besiege exiled Hadi’s camps in preparation for overthrowing

ABYAN, Aug. 20 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transition council’s militias have imposed a suffocating siege on the exiled Hadi’s military camps in Zanjubar district of Abyan province, in preparation for their downfall, According to southern media sources,

A military source in Abyan said that the security belt militias, besieging the exiled Hadi’s military camps on Monday night after receiving reinforcements from camp 7 October in Ja’ar and now besieging the special forces camp to bring it down.

The source said that a mediation committee intervened and asked special forces commander Brigadier General Al-Awban to hand over the camp, but he refused to hand over, prompting the transitional militias to surround the camp in preparation for overthrowing.

The source noted that STC’s militias have received military reinforcements in their operation, which is seeking to overthrow the special forces camp and the military police camp in Abyan.
