SANAA, July 18 (YPA) – Minister of the Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakil on Thursday chaired a meeting in Sanaa to discuss the aspects relating to the improvement of the pharmaceutical situation in Yemen.
The meeting touched on difficulties faced by importers and producers of medicines, and ways to address them.
It was approved, during the meeting, the formation of a committee from the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances, importers and producers to discuss the challenges facing the importers and producers of medicines and mechanism to register drugs and items in the Board.
Dr. al-Mutawakil considered this meeting as a prelude to the consultative meeting to be held early next week to develop the health system and the pharmaceutical situation and find radical solutions both at the level of pharmacies, hospitals and private establishments.
He stressed the importance of promoting the national pharmaceutical industry to ensure the achievement of medical security, especially in light of the continuing aggression and the siege imposed on the country.
