Child, militia member killed in armed clashes in Taiz

TAIZ, July 9 (YPA) – A civilian child and a militia member were killed on Tuesday in armed clashes between militia of Islah and security soldiers in the city of Taiz, southwest Yemen.

According to sources, militia forces affiliated to Ghazwan al-Mekhlafi, a leader in Islah Party, launched an armed attack on the security directorate of the local authority loyal to exiled Hadi government in al-Masbah area near al-Daffaf hospital, which resulted in the killing of a child and one of al-Mekhlafi’s escorts, called Radfan al-Mekhlafi, and injuring another.

Two vehicles, one is military, belonging to al-Mekhlafi’s group and another one belonging to the local authority were burned in the clashes, the sources added.
