9 killed, 10 injured in coal mine explosion in China

SANAA, June 10 (YPA) – At least nine people were killed and 10 others injured in an explosion inside a coal mine in northeast China’s Jilin province.

According to Xinhua, local authorities said the explosion occurred at 8:00 p.m. Sunday in a mine run by a coal processing company in Longjiapo City.

The cause of the explosion is still unknown, the agency added.

The injured were taken for treatment at a local hospital, and investigations are underway, the report said.
