SANAA, May 11 (YPA) – A powerful earthquake of 5.23magnitude on the Richter scale hit the Kurdistan Region – Iran border, the US Geological Survey reported on Saturday.
Local Residents reported that the felt temors in the provinces of Halabja and Sulaimaniya district
No casualties or material damages were reported.
The US Geological Survey indicated that quake occurred near the city of in the Iraqi Kurdistan region
It added the quake occurred 71 kilometres south-east of Iraq’s Sulaimaniya and 10 kilometres deep.
