Iraqi popular crowd begins clearing 230 km of Iraqi-Syrian border
SANAA, May 2 (YPA) – The Iraqi popular crowd announced on Thursday the start of a more than 230-kilometer clearance operation on the Iraqi-Syrian border, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA)
“The operation comes in conjunction with the operations of the Syrian army on the other side of the border and targets a distance of (232) km from the city of Al-Qaim to Al-Walid area,” the Iraqi News Agency quoted the crowd as saying in a statement.
The statement added that “the forces will enter from three main axes and spread on the border strip by the factions and is ready to prevent any danger or emergency in the event of terrorists took their routes towards the borders of Iraq following the operation of the Syrian army.”
On Wednesday, the Popular Forces and the police killed two suicide bombers and detonated a car bomb southwest of Mosul.
