Drug trade, abuse spread in southern provinces

HADRAMOUT, April 6 (YPA) – Phenomenon of drug trade and abuse in the southern provinces has spread recently, sources in Hadramout province said on Saturday.

The sources pointed out that the cases of promotion and sale of drug promotion amounted in 2017 about 136 cases and 259 people, while amounted in 2018 about 248 cases and 382 people.

Gangs are smuggling cannabis and narcotic pills, taking advantage of the security chaos in the southern provinces controlled by the UAE four years ago.
