Over 500 fishermen killed, injured in coalition attacks over four years: Fisheries Minister

SANAA, April 2 (YPA) – Yemen’s Fisheries Minister Mohammed al-Zubairi said on Tuesday that the Saudi-led coalition has killed and injured over 500 Yemeni fishermen in the Yemeni coast over the past four years.

Al-Zubairi in a statement added that more than 4,000 fishing boats stopped, including 250 boats were destroyed by the coalition air strikes.

The Minister affirmed that the coalition attacks on fishing boats in the western coast have caused thousands of the Yemeni fishermen to lost their livelihoods.

Losses of the fishing industry over the past four years were estimated at over six billion USD, said the minister.
