SANAA, April 1 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council (SPC)’s member Mohammed Ali al-Houthi on Monday discussed in Sanaa with President of MSF Dr Joanne Liu and heads of French and Dutch missions in Yemen the organization’s support for 13 hospitals in Yemen.
In the meeting, al-Houthi stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between MSF and the concerned bodies, including the National Authority for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, to overcome the challenges facing the health sector in Yemen.
Al-Houthi called for providing humanitarian assistance to al-Durihemi district of Hodeidah province, which has been besieged for eight months and its residents are in dire need of relief and medical assistance.
For her part, Liu expressed her willingness to provide all that she could, including the provision of support for the residents of al-Durihemi district and cardiology centers.
