ADEN, April 1 (YPA) – Aden Container Terminal late on Sunday evening suspended its activity after two employees of the terminal were assaulted by the UAE-backed militias in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden.
A source at the container terminal, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that “two employees of the operations department of the container port were assaulted by a member of the so-called Free Zone Security, who pointed his gun at the employee after altercations with him.”
All employees of Aden Container Terminal have stopped their activity in protest against the assault on their colleagues, he added.
This comes in parallel with the two-day suspension of customs activity at the Free Zone before being resumed Sunday evening against the background of intervention by security agencies loyal to the UAE in the customs administration tasks.
