Yemen stresses Syria’s right to defend Golan

SANAA, March 26 (YPA) – Foreign Minister in the National Salvation Government Hisham Sharaf on Monday confirmed that Yemen’s leadership and people stand by the Syrian Arab Republic in its right to defend its occupied territories in the Golan Heights.

In a statement to Yemen News Agency (Saba), Sharaf declared Yemen’s rejection to the US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize the annexation of occupied Syrian territory in the Golan Heights to the Israeli enemy.

The minister confirmed Yemen’s condemnation of such decision contrary to the international law and Security Council resolutions, calling for Arab and Islamic actions at all levels against this unjust decision,

He noted that such decision would have negative repercussions on US relations with the Arab and Islamic worlds and “it may lead to new situations that are not in the interest of the US administration. ”
