Fierce clashes erupt between coalition rival militias in Yemen’s Aden

ADEN, March 23 (YPA) –Fierce clashes have erupted on Saturday between Saudi-led coalition rival militias in Aden province, local sources have told Yemen Press Agency.

Local sources said the clashes took place in the Sheikh Ishaq neighborhood of al-Mualla district, between unknown gunmen and security forces loyal to the United Arab Emirates occupation forces.

The sources added that the gunmen positioned themselves on a mountainous height in the Sheikh Ishaq neighborhood and fired indiscriminately at a security pick-up truck loaded with UAE-aligned security soldiers when it passed through the scene.

In al-Brega district, angry protesters closed down the public street and the main round of the Al-Breqa in a protest against the presence of the Saudi –Emirati occupation.

According to a local source, “the citizens set fire to several tires after private security forces arrested an employee named Omar who works for the Aden Refineries Hospital, as well as another one called al-Hamqani, who works as an independent merchant in the area.”

Clashes have reportedly broken out between protesters and security forces loyal to the UAE in the same district, as the UAE-backed troops attempted to open the public street and the main roundabout in the district which was closed by citizens after the arrest.”
