President al-Mashat discusses judiciary reforms

SANAA, March 18 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Monday discussed with head and members of the Supreme Judicial Council the reforms that have been implemented with the aim of improving the judiciary performance.

The meeting, attended by Speaker of the Parliament Yahya al-Ra’i, dealt with the aspects of coordination between the judicial authority and the legislative institution to overcome the current difficulties left by the aggression and blockade.

In the meeting, the president urged leadership of the judicial authority to do everything that would promote its work and to ensure strengthening of the judiciary independency.

For his part, al-Ra’i confirmed that the Parliament is keen to facilitate the difficulties that may relate to some provisions of laws and make them more flexible if necessary.
