SANAA, March 29 (YPA) – President Saleh al-Samad on Thursday called on the UN Secretary-General Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, to work on reopening Sanaa International Airport for humanitarian and civilian flights.
During his meeting with the UN envoy, Al-Sammad touched on the difficult humanitarian situation in Yemen as a result of the aggression and blockade that entered its fourth year.
“We are with a just and honorable peace, and we feel the suffering of the Yemeni people because we are living among them and not in Riyadh hotels,” he said.
He referred to the disastrous effects of the closure of airport and ports and preventing the entry of Yemeni people’s needs in violation of all humanitarian conventions.
The president noted that Yemeni people have legitimate choices in confronting the aggression against their country.
He affirmed that working with the new UN envoy will be a new page as long as a just peace and comprehensive stability is his goal.
However, the president expected a great escalation by the aggression coalition countries on all fronts and on all tracks.
