Saudi orientation to spread (Wahhabism) in Africa

SANAA, Mar. 29 (YPA) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia orientation is to spread (Wahhabism) in Africa, former Assistant Secretary General of Islamic Conference in Africa and former Assistant Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Ashaal said.
“The Saudi interest in the African continent is not new, but this time it is different,” Al-Ashaal added.
“There was a clear Saudi presence in spreading the Wahhabism, like the establishment of Arab schools and Sunni mosques, to address the Shiite and communist incursion in Africa, “Al-Ashaal said.

Experts in the media have given several reasons for the new Saudi orientation to Africa after Ahmed Al-Qattan, the former ambassador to Egypt and the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League, received his new position as Minister of African Affairs, stressing that Saudi Arabia, which has many benefits in the continent, came late because others have a good standing there, such as Iran, Turkey, China and Russia.
