SANAA, March 6 (YPA) – Minister of Culture Abdullah al-Kebsi on Wednesday met with UNICEF Resident Representative in Yemen Sara Nyanti.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the damage caused to the historical sites and landmarks as a result of the war and direct bombing.
Al-Kebsi indicated to the dangers facing the historic cities listed in the World Heritage List, especially at the level of water and sanitation in light of the blockade and scarcity of potentials.
UNICEF representative said that she would help to convey the heritage grievance to international organizations, noting that there would be cooperation with UNESCO to solve the problem of sanitation in the historic city of Sanaa.
Nyanti confirmed that she would work in coordination with the ministry in any future projects in the archaeological and historical sites.
