HAJJAH, Feb. 23 (YPA) – Two prominent commanders of the coalition-backed militias were killed on Friday in a military operation carried out by the army in Hajour area of Hajjah province, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.
The official confirmed in a statement the killing of the senior leader of the coalition, Khalid Ahmed al-Namshah, one of the leaders of the bandit gang in Abaisa area of Kasher district.
The military official also confirmed that the death of another leader named Hamoud Ali Hussein Dagar, in the same operation in the area of Abaisa of Kasher.
The Saudi-led coalition has been trying to open a front for its militants in the Keshar district of Hajjah province for nearly a month after failing to control the Haradh administration for nearly three years.
According to the military official, the coalition extended a number of bandits in the Hajour’s Kasher money and weapons through the landing of air umbrella in an attempt to open a front in the district and control it, but they failed.
The source confirmed that “the army forces besieges the coalition’s militias in Kasher from the eastern and western, northern and southern,” and that “continues to call them to hand over their weapons.
