SANAA, Feb. 20 (YPA) – The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said there were about 200 families besieged in a small area still under the control of the ISIS organization in Syria and that the organization’s fighters are preventing some of them from fleeing.
“Many of the families are still being subjected to intense air and ground strikes by the US-led coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces,” Bachelet said in a statement on Tuesday.
Commissioner’s spokesman Robert Colville said in a statement that international law binds Syria’s US-backed democratic forces to take precautionary measures to protect civilians when they attack the organization fighters.
