15 Egyptian soldiers killed, injured in attack in northern Sinai

SANAA, Feb. 16 (YPA) – The Egyptian army announced on Saturday the killing and wounding of 15 soldiers, in addition to 7 elements of Takfiria after an attack on a security point in the north of Sinai province.

According to Sputnik agency, the  military spokesman for the Egyptian armed forces,Tamer Rifai, said “The terrorist elements attacked one of the security points in northern Sinai, and the strength of the security focus of those elements and engagement with them.”

The military spokesman said that “the security forces managed to eliminate 7 members of Takfirin, and as a result of the exchange of fire, an officer was killed and 14 soldiers wounded.

Egyptian army and police forces continue the Sinai Operation 2018 since February last year, to eliminate the Takfir militants and cleanse the Sinai Island, and secure the western and southern borders of Egypt.
