Parliament listens to Trade Committee’s report on consumer protection

SANAA, Feb. 10 (YPA) – The Parliament on Sunday listened to a report prepared by the Trade and Industry Committee on consumer protection.

The report pointed out that consumers are living in difficult economic, health, education and service conditions, in addition to their living conditions, which are worsening every day.

The report referred to the deterioration of the value of the Yemeni riyal against the dollar and other currencies, which exacerbated the consumers’ daily suffering and the majority of them are unable to provide the minimum necessary requirements because of high prices.

In this regard, the parliament approved that the Committee should meet with the Government side for further studying and submitting a report on the results of what would be reached to the parliament in the next meeting.
