Over 3,000 Yemeni children killed in Saudi-led air strikes on Yemen: Health Minister

SANAA, Feb. 8 (YPA) – Yemeni Health Minister Taha al-Mutawakil said in a press conference on Thursday evening that the Saudi-led coalition airstrikes have been killing over 3,000 children and wounding 263 others, including 615 disabled since 2015.

Al-Mutawakil added that “a Yemeni child dies every ten minutes and more than 400,000 children suffer from severe acute malnutrition, as well as 2 million others suffer from malnutrition because of the siege imposed by the coalition on the Yemeni people.

“About 250 children have died and injured more than 15 thousand children due to disease of measles for 2018, said he, that “more than 8,000 patients have renal failure and need to travel for treatment abroad in addition to 37,000 patients are suffering of cancer.”

The minister called on the United Nations and the international organizations working in Yemen to immediately open Sana’a International Airport to void the humanitarian catastrophe.
