National Commission for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs head meets Humanitarian Coordinator
SANAA, Feb. 6 (YPA) – The head of the National Authority for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Response, Dr. Qassem Abbas, met with Yemen Humanitarian Coordinator Lize Grande and Director of the OCHA Office in Yemen Sebastian Treves.
During the meeting, the response plan presented by OCHA and its contribution to meeting the needs provided in the 2019 plan was presented to achieve the desired objectives and alleviate the suffering caused by the coalition’s war.
The meeting discussed a number of aspects related to international humanitarian activities to contribute in the provision of needs as well as the progress of humanitarian projects, the nature of the difficulties, challenges facing their implementation and the basic and emergency needs and requirements.
Dr. Abbas praised the efforts exerted by the humanitarian coordinator in light of the difficult circumstances facing our country as a result of aggression and siege.
For her part, Grande praised the announcement of the 2019 demand plan and considered it a qualitative and positive step, stressing the keenness of the OCHA to support this plan by mobilizing resources that meet the needs.
