Saudi authorities release billionaire al-Amoudi

SANAA, Jan. 27 (YPA) – Saudi authorities on Sunday released billionaire businessman Mohammed Hussein al-Amoudi after serving 14 months in prison, according to sources in the kingdom.

Ethiopian television announced the news of release based on information from Arega Yirdaw, Chief Executive Officer of MIDROC Technology Group belonging to al-Amoudi.

Al-Amoudi, a businessman of Yemeni origin and holds both Saudi and Ethiopian nationalities, was arrested within the so-called “Saudi Crown Prince’s anti-corruption campaign”, in which dozens of princes and businessmen were arrested and held in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh in November 2017.
