UAE-backed militias kill 2 citizens in Abyan
ABYAN, Jan. 26 (YPA) – The so-called “security belt forces”, militias backed by the UAE, on Friday evening killed two citizens and injured a third at checkpoint in al-Mahfad area of Abyan province, southern Yemen.
“The gang (militias) opened fire on a pick-up car carrying two citizens traveling to their homes in Bihan district in Shabwa province”, said “Manbar al-Sojon al-Seriyah”, a media platform that publishes and follows the news of detainees in the UAE secret prisons in Yemen.
The media platform explained that the militias stopped the two citizens for inspection, and after ascertaining their identities they allowed them to pass from the checkpoint. It added that after the car moved a few meters away from the point, the militia began firing heavily on the car and who were inside, which led to the killing of both Wahib Saleh and Ahmed Jabr and the injuring of Mubarak al-Massah, who are all from Ridan area in Bihan district.
Yemeni southern provinces under the control of the UAE occupation have been witnessing a state of security chaos for four years, amid the spread of assassinations, especially at security points of the UAE-backed militias.
