President meets UN official

SANAA, March 20 (YPA) – President Saleh al-Sammad on Tuesday met with the Resident Representative of the United Nations for Humanitarian Coordinator, Lisa Grande, to Yemen.

At the meeting, the officials discussed the difficulties that facing the Yemeni people and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation due to the ongoing aggression on Yemen and the closure of Hodeidah and Sanaa International Airports.

The president stressed on the full readiness to provide all facilities for the international organizations working in Yemen.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments to the humanitarian situation in Yemen, and the aggression coalition’s escalation in targeting civilians, ports, roads and bridges, hindering the accesses of humanitarian aid and food and medicine shipments.

Meanwhile, the UN official noted the necessity to strengthen the coordination between official agencies and the humanitarian organizations to expand of humanitarian and relief assistance.
